Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg, South Africa)
and Livingstone International Airport (Livingstone,
Zambia). The approximate flying time is 1 hour 40
minutes.
Shackletons
provides vehicle transfers from:
- Livingstone International Airport
(Livingstone, Zambia) – approximately 1
hour 45 minutes
- Kazungula Ferry (Zambia / Botswana
border) – approximately 1 hour.
- Sesheke or Katima Mulilo (Zambia
/ Namibia border) – approximately
45 minutes.
The vehicle transfers
pass through lush teak and Mopani forests and the
Zambezi floodplain vegetation.
Shackletons
is easily accessible on the Livingstone / Sesheke
road (M10), a newly tarred road that connects Livingstone
(Zambia) and Sesheke (Zambia).
The turn-off to Shackletons
is approximately 150 km west of Livingstone, 90km
west of Kazungula Ferry, 6 km west of the turnoff
to Mwandi, or 55 km east of Sesheke. There is a 3
½ km sand road that leads down to Shackletons
on the upper Zambezi River. This road is suitable
for sedan vehicles all year round.
