Shackletons has a strong relationship with
our local community and Senior Chief Inyambo Yeta, who live
alongside the camp comprising of 120 villagers with close
knit families. We are committed to making a difference to
our local villages and to protecting the environment. We
have trained our people in conservation, guiding, hospitality
and tourism sectors.
We are proud of starting Sooka Community
School where 102 children aged between 5 and 11 years attend.
There are two full time teachers. The school has two international
sponsors who have provided on-going support with books,
stationery, art materials as well as uniforms.
Our guests are often keen to learn and experience
traditional Losi culture. Shackletons is able to offer a
unique experience to Mwandi Mission as well visit an Australian
sponsored Aids Orphans feeding project.
